06 — The Doctrinal Core
What actually divides: the Filioque and the papal claims of universal jurisdiction and infallibility — one problem seen from two sides — with the second tier of azymes, purgatory as satisfaction, and created grace. Each Roman position is stated in Rome’s own terms from Rome’s own texts; the Orthodox confession is stated as the teaching of the Church: doctrines she has examined and not received (METHODOLOGY §4.1).
