04 — Philosophy from the God-Man
The God-Man idea turned outward: Justin’s critique of European humanism — “the philosophy of the God-Man” against every anthropocentrism — and his ecclesiology, the doctrine of the Church as the body of the God-Man and of the sobornost (catholicity) that follows from it.
This section develops the two great applications of the theanthropic principle. The first file treats Justin’s cultural and philosophical polemic: his diagnosis of European humanism — rationalist, Roman-Catholic, Protestant, and finally secular and nihilist — as the tragedy of the man-god, and his counter-proposal of a “philosophy of the God-Man” and of Svetosavlje, the Serbian way of St. Sava. The second treats his ecclesiology: the Church as the one theanthropic organism, the body of Christ the God-Man, in which the human person is deified and true catholicity (sobornost) is realized.
