St. Innocent’s place in the founding of American Orthodoxy: his relation to St. Herman of Alaska as the two complementary saints of the Alaska mission; and the indigenous clergy, the post-1867 turn toward an English-using American Church, and the line that runs from his vision to the Orthodox Church in America.
