06 — The Practice
How the prayer is actually prayed: the knotted rope and its economy, prostrations, the measured prayer rule under obedience, the prayer inside and alongside the liturgical life — and the classical three degrees, oral to mental to prayer of the heart, with unceasing prayer confessed as gift, not achievement.
Tradition: Pan-Orthodox
This section is the collection’s practicum. The first file covers the external equipment and economy — chotki/komboskini, bows, the rule scaled to monastic and lay life, substitution by economy, and the firm boundary that the prayer never replaces the Mysteries. The second maps the interior deepening in the tradition’s own terms, with each degree’s signs and counterfeits and the governing theology of prayer-as-gift.
