David and the Royal Prophets
David the King and Prophet, whose psalms the Church reads as prophecy and prays as her daily office, and Solomon, whose place in the Church’s veneration is honestly ambiguous — honored among the Forefathers, reserved in his end — and whose Wisdom books yield the prophecy of the righteous sufferer.
Tradition: Pan-Orthodox
The first file, david-the-psalmist-prophet.md, treats David as prophet — the Psalms as prophecy (Psalm 109/110 and the rest), the christological reading of the Psalter, David the penitent of Psalm 50, and the bridge to the wave-sibling collection on the Psalter and the daily office. The second file, solomon-and-the-wisdom-books.md, treats Solomon’s ambiguous veneration researched honestly, and the prophetic-christological reading of the Wisdom books — above all Wisdom 2, the righteous sufferer.
