The Great Prophets II — Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel
The prophets of the Babylonian catastrophe and exile: Jeremiah (feast 1 May) of the new covenant, Ezekiel (feast 21 July) of the chariot, the dry bones, and the closed gate, and Daniel with the Three Holy Youths (feast 17 December) of the fiery furnace and the Son of Man.
Tradition: Pan-Orthodox
The first file, jeremiah-and-ezekiel.md, treats Jeremiah the suffering prophet, Lamentations, and the new covenant (Jeremiah 31), and Ezekiel’s merkabah-chariot, the dry bones (the paschal reading of Holy Saturday), and the closed gate as a type of the Theotokos. The second file, daniel-and-the-three-youths.md, treats the furnace and the Song of the Three (its anagignoskomena status; Odes 7–8), Daniel’s apocalyptic visions and their christological reading, and the critical dating of Daniel reported both-sides and deferred to the Scripture collection.
