09 — Living with the Angels
How does the doctrine of the angels live in Orthodox practice — and how much of it is dogma? This section treats the “angelic life” as the monastic ideal (the bios angelikos and the “angelic schema” of the tonsure) and the place of the angels in daily piety; and it closes the collection with a sober mapping of the boundary between what the Church dogmatically confesses about the angels and what remains theologoumenon or pious tradition — on the model the repository uses for the toll-houses.
