07 — The Angels in Worship
The Church’s worship is a joining of the angelic worship of heaven. This section sets out the angelic liturgy — the “Holy, holy, holy” of the Sanctus (Isaiah 6; Revelation 4), the Trisagion, and the Cherubic Hymn in which the faithful “mystically represent the Cherubim” — and the tradition of the angels concelebrating at the altar; then it locates the Bodiless Powers in the Church’s time: Monday as the angels’ day in the weekly cycle, and the feasts of the calendar.
Tradition: Pan-Orthodox
