07 — The Myrrh-Gusher
The cult that made Nemanja a saint. This section — the collection’s attestation-pinning flagship — treats the myrrh reported to flow from Simeon’s tomb, the epithet it gave him, St. Sava’s translation of the relics home to Studenica in 1206/07 and the reconciliation of the warring brothers over the tomb, and the living Athonite traditions of the vine of Hilandar and its intercession for the childless. Every miraculous claim is pinned to its earliest named, dated attestation and reported as such, not asserted as documented twelfth-century fact.
