Section 07 — The Sources
A source-critical section. Sebastian is a comparatively well-documented modern saint — he left published books, a paper trail of mission records, and a memoir written by a bishop who knew him — but the sources still diverge on several dates, and much of the connective narrative depends on a single modern biography. This section distinguishes what rests on contemporary documents and his own writings from what rests on later hagiography, and assesses the principal modern source.
Tradition: Serbian Orthodox / American (glorified 2015)
Per METHODOLOGY §3.5 and §4.2, a glorification is not a certification that every biographical detail is documented history. This section makes the evidentiary situation legible: which claims are secure, which are disputed, and which rest on the reconstruction of a single devoted biographer.
