05 — Lawgiver and Educator
Sava the founder of Serbian law and letters: the Zakonopravilo, the great compilation of canon and civil law that became the first constitution of the Serbian church and state and spread across the Slavic Orthodox world as the Kormchaya kniga; and the wider work of the “Enlightener” — the profession of faith, the educational and literary program, and the symphonic synthesis of church and state that defines Serbian Orthodoxy.
