Section 09: Glorification and Legacy

The reception of St. Porphyrios: his glorification by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on November 27, 2013, which inscribed the beloved elder among the saints and fixed his feast on December 2, the day of his repose; and the extraordinary diffusion of his life and teaching through books — above all Wounded by Love, translated into more than twenty languages and read by millions — making this near-illiterate former shepherd one of the most widely read spiritual teachers of the contemporary Orthodox world, and inviting the constant comparison with his great contemporary, St. Paisios of Mount Athos.

Tradition: Greek Orthodox / Athonite (canonized 2013)
