08 — Veneration East and West
How Patrick is venerated, in the West that has always claimed him and in the Orthodox East that has received him. The first file treats the feast of March 17 and the historical cult — its growth at Armagh, its medieval and modern forms. The second treats the Orthodox reception specifically: Patrick among the pre-schism Western saints, the ROCOR / Western-saints movement, and the 2017 formal addition to the Russian Orthodox Church’s calendar.
