05 — The Canonical and Anthological Works
Beyond the Philokalia, Nicodemus produced a library: the Rudder (Pedalion), the great collection of the sacred canons with his own interpretations, compiled with Agapios the Monk; the Evergetinos, the anthology of the desert and Byzantine ascetic Fathers; the Synaxaristes, his vast recension of the Lives of the Saints; and critical editions of St. Symeon the New Theologian and St. Gregory Palamas. This section treats the canonist and anthologist.
