09 — Glorification and Legacy
The close of the story and the ground of its telling: the formal canonization of Kosmas by the Ecumenical Patriarchate on 20 April 1961 as Equal-to-the-Apostles, with his feast on 24 August; and the scholarship and editions — Christodoulides, Papakyriakos, Kantiotes, Cavarnos, Vaporis, and Menounos — on which the whole collection rests, including why no complete critical edition existed until Menounos in 1979.
Tradition: Greek Orthodox (canonized 1961)
