05 — The Prophecies
The most delicate part of the tradition: the roughly 122 short “Prophecies and Sayings” attributed to Kosmas. This section treats them strictly as a transmission and reception problem — what is early-attested and what is later accretion, and how the corpus has been received and misused, often by modern nationalism. It does NOT assert the prophecies as authentic predictions.
Tradition: Greek Orthodox (canonized 1961)
