02 — The Jura Monastic Tradition
The well-documented monastic world Claudius is said to have entered: the founders of Condat — Romanus, Lupicinus, and Eugendus (Oyend) — recorded in the gold-standard Vita Patrum Jurensium (c. 520), and the monastery itself, with its three successive names across the centuries. The historical solidity here stands in deliberate contrast to the legendary Claudius.
