03 — The Spiritual Father
The heart of Amphilochios’s fame: his ministry of confession and spiritual fatherhood across the Dodecanese and far beyond; and the gentleness, joy, and discernment for which he was loved, with the accounts of his charismatic gifts attestation-pinned to their named sources per the repository methodology.
Tradition: Greek Orthodox (20th-c. elder; Ecumenical Patriarchate)
This section treats Amphilochios as geron — spiritual elder. The first file follows the ministry of confession that made him the spiritual father of a whole region and, through his diaspora children, of Orthodox far from Patmos. The second treats his character and his gifts of discernment and healing — reported through the firsthand testimony of Metropolitan Kallistos (Ware) and the sisterhood’s biography, and pinned to those sources under METHODOLOGY §3.5 rather than asserted as adjudicated fact.
