The Icon in Worship and Life

The icon in its native setting: the act of veneration itself; the iconostasis that structures the Orthodox temple and the icon corner that sanctifies the home; and the processions, wonderworking icons, and myrrh-streaming images through which the tradition testifies to the grace at work through the sacred image — reported soberly and pinned to their attestation.

Tradition: Pan-Orthodox

This section treats how icons are actually used. The first file, veneration-the-iconostasis-and-the-icon-corner.md, describes the bodily acts of veneration, the structure and meaning of the iconostasis in the church (linking the Divine Liturgy), and the icon corner of the Orthodox home. The second file, processions-and-wonderworking-icons.md, treats the wonderworking icons and their traditions and the myrrh-streaming icons — reported per METHODOLOGY §3.5 as what the sources attest, pinned to their earliest naming and dating, and neither dismissed nor asserted as documented fact.
