Other Xerophagy

This is the most calorie-dense, most satisfying, and most portable xerophagy meal that requires no preparation beyond spreading and rolling. A banana provides potassium and quick energy. Almond butter provides protein, fat, and the kind of sustained fullness that raw food rarely delivers. The bread or lavash wraps it all together into something you can eat with one hand on your way to a service.

Eat this for breakfast on xerophagy mornings when you need to function, or pack it for work during fasting periods.

INGREDIENTS

- 1 large piece of lavash or 1 soft flatbread (pita works too)
- 2 tablespoons raw almond butter (check label: should be just almonds, maybe salt — no oil added, no sugar)
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)

METHOD

1. Lay the lavash or flatbread flat on a clean surface.

2. Spread the almond butter evenly across the surface, leaving about an inch at the edges.

3. Peel the banana and place it along one edge of the bread. If the banana is too large, cut it in half lengthwise.

4. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon if using.

5. Roll the bread tightly around the banana. Cut in half diagonally if desired.

NOTES

- Raw almond butter means the almonds were not roasted before grinding. Check the label carefully — many commercial almond butters use roasted almonds. If you have a powerful blender, you can make raw almond butter from raw almonds (it takes about 10 minutes of processing).
- Peanut butter is a viable substitute if you can find a raw version, though most commercial peanut butter uses roasted peanuts.
- This delivers roughly 450 calories — nearly half the daily intake some people manage during strict xerophagy. Do not underestimate its value.
